Air Conditioning:
Your reverse cycle air conditioning system is individually controlled from your room using the remote control, which is located decide your bed. Some controls are located beneath a slide back panel at the base of the control panel. Use the “mode” button to chance from heating to cooling, fan or auto modes.
Beach:
Albany is totally spoiled with kilometres of incredible beaches – including the beautiful and vast Middleton Bay just 150m from your door. We’ll be pleased to assist with suggestions of local beaches most suitable for the weather conditions and within proximity of your other daily activities or of course, take advantage of the beautiful beach so nearby! Or check out https://www.beachesofkinjarling.com.au/ which highlights real time conditions of the most popular swimming beaches and rates them according to wind speed and direction, temperature etc.
Beach Towels
Beach Towels are located in the drawers under the luggage rack in your room.
Bicycles:
Two bicycles and helmets are available for your complimentary use which you may use to discover our beautiful scenery. A great bike path is located along the beach just 150m from us at the Beach House and we have a great map of ten best bike trails around the local area. Please contact Reception for the lock code so you can get started!
Blanket:
Your bed is made with a cotton waffle blanket and duvet so you can coordinate your personalised maximum comfort. Should you need an extra blanket you will find these in the overhead section of your wardrobe, or the drawers under your luggage rack. Should you require an electric blanket during your stay, please contact Reception.
Breakfast:
Breakfast is served in our Terrace Dining Room – In the Main House – from 7.30am – 9:30am daily. Breakfast is at a relaxed pace and 9.30am is a general guideline as arrival for breakfast – take your time we don’t want you to rush.
Should you require breakfast prior to 7.30am or after 9.30am , please just let us know and we’ll make suitable arrangements. If you would like breakfast served in your room, a little notice is greatly appreciated - please see Reception (or dial “9”) for an order form.
Business Requirements:
A printing and copy service is available by contacting Reception. All rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi which is also available throughout the building for your convenience.
Check Out:
Check out time is 11:00am. We encourage you to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast at The Beach House before setting off for the day. Late checkout is often available but will be subject to our daily bookings. Of course, you are welcome to enjoy the Beach House’s lounge, courtyard and tea and coffee facilities while you are awaiting your flight or next engagement. Secure luggage holding is also available at Reception for your convenience.
Do Not Disturb:
We respect your privacy and should your “Do Not Disturb” sign be hung we will not knock or enter your room. Please just bear in mind this may mean your afternoon tea plate may not be delivered or your room may not be serviced.
Duty Manager:
Reception is generally open from 7.30am – 6.00pm daily – just dial ‘9’ from your room phone or pop over to reception. If reception is not manned the black courtesy phone will dial directly to the Duty Manager. Our Duty Manager can also be contacted via text on 0491676902.
Emergency Details:
In an emergency, please dial “9” or 9844 8844 to contact us and emergency phone numbers for direct community services are also listed on your telephone. The generic emergency number in Australia is “000” – this service will direct you to the applicable emergency service, Fire, Ambulance, Police.
Evening Meals:
Albany has such a wonderful array of local dining on offer and we are pleased to help you make bookings and arrangements as needed. Click here to access our favourite recommendations for local dining.
Fire Safety:
Extinguishers are located in the upper foyer (at the top of the stairs in the Main House), and on the ground floor & first floor Colonnade Wing. Exit lights are clearly visible and smoke detectors are installed. Front doors in both the Main House and the Colonnade Wing can be exited in an emergency without keys by turning the large latch device. – Please also read the Emergency procedure behind the door of your room
Games:
A selection of games are stored in the yellow checked ottoman in the library area at the top of the stairs in the Main House. Please just help yourself and enjoy!
Golf:
Albany Golf Course is a beautiful and historic course and located just 150m from your door. Let us know if you’d like us to enquire about tee-off times – best times for social golf are: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Sunday – all day and Wednesday and Saturday morning only, Thursday afternoon only.
Driving range is available until around 4pm each afternoon – grab a bucket of balls from the pro-shop.
Housekeeping:
As the world changes around us and we value the environment and our personal space more, we are now taking the lead from you regarding the daily servicing of your room while you are staying with us. Please use the signs on your door-knob to communicate your wishes to our housekeeping team: - Please Service My Room OR No Service Required. Should you require your room to be serviced please note we require access to your room prior to midday to ensure full servicing is available. Supplies are available after that time from Reception by calling “9”, or there is a self-service pantry located in the white book cases upstairs on the landing above reception – adjacent to rooms 5 & 6.

Hairdryers:
Hairdryers are located for convenience in the top drawer of your Bathroom cupboard. (Suite Seven & Two – in the drawer in the base of the luggage rack.)
In Room Bar:
The Beach House at Bayside is fully licensed and we showcase some of the delightful specialties of the cold climate Great Southern Wine region, along with local beers.
We’ll check with you regarding your consumption for billing purposes when you check out or in the case that you do an express check out we will charge provided credit card for any consumption.
Iron & Board:
An Iron and Ironing Board are located in your wardrobe for your convenience.
Keys:
Your key tag inserts into power slot adjacent to your door to activate all electricity. Please ensure the key is fully inserted for all power to be operational.
Your door is unlocked by default – to lock the door please depress the button on the inside of the door knob and let the door close behind you.
The dark blue key on your keyring will activate your room door and green key is for the front Reception door or external doors at rear of Main reception building should they be locked. Should you need the key to access the building please relock door behind you as the Duty Manager has done their nightly lock up rounds.
Laundry:
In house wash & fold service is available for $40.00 per bag or part thereof. Laundry bags can be found in the drawer under the luggage rack in your room – please bring laundry to reception to avoid any confusion regarding the items for the service.
Meal Delivery:
Should you wish to settle in to your room in the evening you will find cutlery, crockery and serving ware with your tea and coffee facilities in your room.
Albany Tandoori Indian and Jo-Joes Pizza (also offering pasta and other meals) both have their own delivery services or local delivery service Town Around has a longer list of options via their app or website.
Milk:
Regular dairy milk is provided in your in-room fridge on a complimentary basis – if you have specific dietary requirements, please contact reception and we’ll do our best to meet your requirements immediately or take steps to meet your needs ASAP.
Phones:
All local, national and Australian mobile calls are complimentary from your guest room. To dial an outside line, please press “0” followed by the number you require, including any applicable area of country code.
Pillows:
Your bed is currently made with premium hypo-allergenic Dacron pillows, but a selection is available. Should you require additional pillows or prefer down, “wool rich” or latex pillows please advise Reception and we’ll be pleased to assist.
Power
Your key tag inserts into the power slot adjacent to your door to activate all electricity. Please ensure the key tag is fully inserted for all lighting and power to operate.
Picnics and Packed Lunches:
Relax and enjoy a romantic picnic lunch at one of Albany’s special havens from 100 metres to 100 kilometres from the Beach House. We will be happy to provide you with a grazing box ($85 generous serve for two) which is ideal for a picnic along with a picnic blanket and a map to a great picnic spot for the day’s weather conditions. If a simple walkers lunch is more what you are after, we can provide a simple packed lunch -sandwich, whole fruit, sweet item and water ($20 pp)
Power Adaptors:
Don’t have an Australian Adaptor? Don’t worry! Come and see us at Reception as we have plenty on hand.
Power Failure:
In the event of a power failure, emergency lights will come on in hall ways to provide sufficient illumination to enable you to safely exit the building if that should be necessary.
Rooms 1-6 - Torches and candles are stored in the cupboard beneath your television.
Room 7 - torch is on the shelf in the wardrobe and candles are located downstairs with your tea and coffee facilities.
Reading
A range of books, magazines and newspapers are located around the buildings. Please help yourself to any of this material and feel free to exchange paperbacks or leave any books you are finished with.

Smoking:
All inside areas of the Beach House are non-smoking for the comfort of all guests.
Ashtrays are available for use in your private courtyard or balcony if required.
Televisions:
Your television provides access to all local free to air channels along with smart TV capacity to access various streaming services using your own account. Should you have trouble signing into your steaming service we’ll be pleased to assist where we can. If you do not have access to any streaming accounts please contact reception and we can assist with access to a Netflix account if required. Please logout of your personal streaming account before check out.
Toiletries:
A range of emergency toiletry items are available at Reception including sanitary items, razors, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant, sun lotion and insect repellent.
Transfers:
We are pleased to offer complimentary one-way transfers to restaurants in the evening by arrangement. Please discuss with us when we make your restaurant booking. Most local restaurateurs are super helpful and will assist you with booking a return trip home at your own expense.
Treats:
Complimentary water and fresh milk are in your in-room fridge and please help yourselves to Wignalls port and chocolates adjacent to (or in) your room with our compliments. We’ll deliver a sweet treat each afternoon – if you have dietary requirements, please just let us know and we’ll be pleased to cater to your needs.
Wi-Fi:
Local Wi-fi is complimentary and generally very reliable including for zoom and streaming.
Network: Beach House Password: BHouse33 (Codes are also noted on your in room phone).
Every now and then the network provides us with a challenge – please let us know an we can check whether the issues if with our property system or more wide spread.
